Won't Crack English Almonds

I had English almonds, picked by me, dried, throughout autumn, by me, and impossible to crack using this! I know English, home grown almonds have notoriously thick shells, unlike the mass grown USA varieties, but this did not do what I bought it for.

Excellent Value & Quality

Around a third of the price of Kilner, and just as good. Well made cradles, too. Very good, competitive price.

Worrying Aluminium Poaching Bowls!

So... why just three stars? This poacher annoys me, as its poaching bowls are raw aluminium! They have handles with steel screws, and washers, which will, inevitably, rust. On cleaning the aluminium, which worries me from the leaching theory, black residue was on the kitchen towel! This is aluminium rubbing! So, how, in this day and age, can Vogue make this with aluminium, which looks poor? The rest of the stainless steel pan, tray, and lid (glass, too) appears fine, but the aluminium is not fine!
